On the Art Table: A Few Finished Pieces, A Few Works in Progress

I am getting ready to receive my parents for a visit this weekend, to celebrate Canadian Thanksgiving. It's been a full week, but I'm still keeping up my studio practice - at least five days a week!

A glimpse at what's on the art table these days...

Blue Contemplation

10"h x 8 1/2"w, acrylics, charcoal and pastels on mat board
I tried to give her a smile, but it didn't work out. So I honoured her sadness.

Homage to La femme au chapeau (Matisse)

10"h x 8 1/2"w, acrylics, charcoal and pastels on mat board

an homage to Matisse's "La femme au chapeau" (Woman with a Hat)

Morning Drawing Exercise - A Selfie

Goggle Guy - Work in Progress

18"h x 24"w, charcoal and pastels on paper

a work in progress that I'm really enjoying, based on an ad from a 1933 magazine

Abstract - Work in Progress

24" x 24", acrylics on canvas

finally, an abstract in progress - or not, I'm not sure yet

Wishing you all a great weekend, and a Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian peeps!

Just One Small Action

You’ve taken the e-course, you’ve read the books and you’ve done your research.

You know what you want to do, you may have even known all along. Now you’re ready to start.

So just start.

Start with one small action.

Then take the next action, and then the next one.

Actions add up. They make stuff happen. They make your project happen, your dreams, your dangling to-dos, and the ones that beckon you further into possibility.

You can do this.

Just one small action.

Do it, and let me know in the comments that you did. There’s no need to tell me what it was if you don’t want to, just let me know you took that one brave step.

And I will jump up and cheer, dear one.
