Photo Pause: Hay Lake Lodge and Ontario's Algonquin Provincial Park

Note: Photography is a path to mindfulness for me, a meditative and grounding practice that prompts me to slow down and notice the world around me. May these images offer you a space to pause, a respite in your perhaps busy day, and a reminder to take a moment now & then and notice what's going on in the world around you.

Last month D. and I got away for some some r&r, hiking and an unexpected art-related quest. We stayed at Hay Lake Lodge and Cottages, a mere 15 minutes from Ontario's Algonquin Provincial Park. It was bliss.

I offer you a few favourite snapshots of some of the wonders I encountered during our time "up north."

A Letter to June

Dearest month of June,

You were full.

Challenges and insights at work, a seventh wedding anniversary, a blissful getaway to Quebec City with my sweetie, an unexpected road trip to my beloved east coast with Sis to celebrate the life of a clan member who passed away, and a slew of life's big questions that continue to perplex.

You brought joy, anger, frustration, sadness, anxiety, shame, vision, a renewed sense of possibility, hope and all things in between peppered with moments of absolute peace.

Frankly, you've left me a wee bit tired in your wake.

For it all, I thank you.

Stephanie
